QR201268-1 Blues (CDEP) High-pitched vocals, shredding lyrics, and a strangely optimistic melancholy are the meat and potatoes of Kevin Wheeler & KL&R2’s souring effort, heavy drumming by his sidekick son, Kevin Jr., lead guitar Keith Williams, the deep mellow licks from Lewis Greenhow bass guitar and Mike Bella rhythm guitar formulated a blues album capable of leaving blues lover’s shaking, in a time capsule of pleasure with their jaws on the floor, housewives quivering, and millennium-kids feeling hip for a second or two, I Got The Blues is as pure and emotional as it gets. With thick layers of instrumentation fronted by Kevin’s trademark worn, in-your-face voice and a tender ear for sophisticated blues Kevin is able to combine the sounds of his Gospel upbringing in Church with the soul of his Urban blues sound. All the while crafting a tightly produced, hook-laden blues album appealing to indie, R&B, rock, and blues music fans alike.
